Set to open in 2025, The Digby is located on the prestigious Ellis Square, adjacent to City Market. This six-story boutique hotel offers a unique blend of historical charm, modern sophistication and comforts. The hotel has a basement lounge, ground floor restaurant, thirty-six luxury rooms, plus, a rooftop restaurant and bar.
This is one of the exclusive Unbound Collection properties by Hyatt hotels worldwide. And, recently, The Digby hosted a ceremony earlier in May to mark the placement of the final steel beam atop the structure. The topping-off ceremony is steeped in tradition, dating back centuries to celebrate the successful completion of a building's structural framework. Representatives from Stature Investments, Pioneer Construction, Pantheon ADC, Coastal Civil Engineering, J. Elder Studio and Flourish Collaborative, as well as city officials, community leaders and other invited guests are expected to attend.
"We are thrilled to reach this pivotal moment in the construction of the Digby," said Yash Desai, Principal at Stature Investments. "This building represents a unique opportunity to revitalize a significant corner of Savannah's downtown landscape and contribute to the city's ongoing cultural and economic vibrancy."
Desai continued, “We believe this is the right property at the right time for Savannah. From the stylish spaces and luxurious accommodations hotel guests demand to the rooftop bar and this fantastic location right next to City Market in the heart of downtown, our expectations are sky-high.”
Within the hotel, the decor and feel of The Digby are part of creative narrative. Imagine, a seasoned traveler has arrived at the hotel with exquisite finds from global adventures. These finds include rich fabrics, evocative wall coverings, and handcrafted furniture, all which help to reveal the tales of faraway lands.
"The steel is up, and we're excited about the progress. It's moving along fairly quickly right now. We made some minor changes to enhance the project and give it what Savannah needs and what the leisure market is looking for in Savannah. We're going to bring Savannah into the building and the history behind the site so our guests get a sense of the origins and the name," said Mehul Patel, co-owner and Chief Operations Officer at Ideal Hospitality Investments.
