See Thrilling Races At The Barber Motorsports Park

For racing fans George Barber was among the leading competition in the field when he raced, modified, and maintained Porsches in the 1960's. With over sixty first-place wins, Barber secured his place as a legend in Motorsports. Later, when he began collecting and restoring classic sports cars in 1989, he soon found himself drawn motorcycles. Barber soon realized motorcycle fans also needed a museum showcase the history of their place in racing and Motorsports history, and this later lead to the Barber Vintage Motorsports Museum in Birmingham, Alabama.

The creation of this museum offers a rare opportunity for motorcycle fans to view machines that would otherwise only appear in photographs. The interesting and diverse collection is amazing, but a truly unique aspect of the Barber Vintage Motorsports Museum is that restorations of motorcycles are done in-house. You may have seen many of these rare bikes on tours across the county with the vintage motorcycle race team, which has won numerous national championships.

Located at The Barber Motorsports Park, the museums collection features over 900 vintage and modern motorcycles, in addition to a collection of Lotus and other racecars. With almost five hundred motorcycles on display at any given time, ranging from 1904 classics to current-year productions, the Barber Vintage Motorsports Museum is one-of-a-kind! Bikes have purchased by locals and nationally as well as far away as Australia, New Zealand, and Sweden. The goal of the Barber Vintage Motorsports Museum is to preserve, interpret, and exhibit the history of motorcycles, vintage vehicles and Motorsports. This gives fans a fantastic view of the changing history of racing and production through the years.

Speaking of racing, did you know that Barber Motorsports Park includes a world class 2.38 mile racetrack? With 740 acre of venue space, the Barber Motorsports Park is home of the Barber Vintage Motorsports Museum, thrilling races, and events like the Annual Barber Vintage Festival. Presented by Michelin, this event takes place over a weekend in

Early October, and is a great way to celebrate the motorcycle, swap parts, and join special programs take place in the museum. Among the highlights of previous festivals are the performances by the Aeroshell Aerobatic Team, Alabama Skydiving Inc., and the breath-taking Wall Of Death, presented by the American Motor Drome Company.
