The National Museum of African Art is part of Smithsonian collection of museums. Over 13,000 creative works, representing a thousand years of African history are among the items showcased. This museum is presently the only one dedicated to the collection, conservation, study and exhibition of Africa’s arts across time and media.
Among the present exhibits at the museum is: Bruce Onobrakpeya: The Mask and the Cross. This exhibit opens June 21st, presenting works by celebrated Nigerian sculptor, printmaker, and founding member of the famed Zaria Art Society, Bruce Onobrakpeya.
