The Southwest region of Florida offers an ideal vacation destination with miles of pristine coastline for activities and relaxation

Southwest Florida, Sarasota County and the surrounding regions offer an ideal vacation destination with miles of pristine coastline for activities and relaxation. Home to some of the region’s top boating and fishing spots, we also love Southwest Florida for the endless events and festivities to experience, which include these fun things to do:

Spring Training

Florida is known for spring training and you can join the Atlanta Braves action at CoolToday Park, a state-of-the-art complex with seating for over 7,000 fans. Also onsite at the park is an outfield patio and bar areas for refreshments.

Practice for the season continues with the Baltimore Orioles at Ed Smith Stadium. This major league facility has 8,000 seats, and five offsite training fields. The stadium has a clubhouse, covered batting cages and pitching mounds.

Arts and Culture

Join the spring art exhibition, Yayoi Kusama: A Letter to Georgia O’Keeffe at the Marie Selby Botanical Gardens.

Along with ongoing art exhibitions, the Sarasota Art Museum offers the Bistro Pop-Up dining series, featuring after-hours gallery tour and a three-course dinner.

Film stars and celebrity guests will be on hand to celebrate the Sarasota Film Festival - one of the world’s largest regional festivals.

Another fun event is the upcoming the Venice Shark Tooth Festival in Venice - the shark tooth capital of the world. Admission and parking are free, and the festival hosted aCentennial Park offers a trolley to and from offsite parking. Centennial Park is also where to find the Friday Night Concert Series. The free concerts are held in the park’s gazebo on the second and fourth Friday of the month at 7pm-9pm.

Look for live music, food, and fun activities for the entire family at these and other events throughout Southwest Florida.
