With over 300 members, the Central Arkansas Corvette Club is ready to hosts its annual Corvette Weekend in Hot Springs in April. Tom Powal and Jim Butler, co-chairpersons of the Corvette Weekend Event, said "Expect 400 to 500 Corvettes and 1,000 Corvette owners to be in town for the gathering. They already have participants registered from fourteen states including Arkansas, Colorado, Florida, Illinois, Kansas, Louisiana, Nebraska, Nevada, Missouri, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Texas, so it's going to be a great event!"
Kicking off the festivities will be the Corvette Parade in downtown Hot Springs on Friday. America’s Sports cars will be on display at the Hot Springs Mall during the weekend as well. And, in the Summit Arena Corvettes of all ages participate in the Show Competition.
Other events scheduled during the Hot Springs Annual Corvette Weekend that will have free outdoor parking for participants and public include:
- A Poker Run
- Cannonball Run
- Luncheon aboard Belle of Hot Springs
- Corvettes on Parade in Hot Springs National Park
- A Silent auction at Summit Arena
- The inaugural run of the Valve Cover Car Race
- Awards Presentation at Summit Arena
"The Corvette Weekend is an event that Hot Springs residents and visitors enjoy tremendously. They love coming out to see the beautiful cars that are on display throughout the gathering," said Cindy DeWitt, director of sales for Visit Hot Springs.
