Presented by Citizens Energy Group, the Indianapolis Zoo is excited to share the opening of Kangaroo Crossing. This all-new exhibit is located near the Café on the Commons, and features the amazing red kangaroo from Australia.
Gather your group for an unforgettable experience with kangaroos up close. Yes, the kangaroos may even interact with you. An Animal Care Team Member is on hand to explain what they like to eat and answer any questions.
Among the experts is Plains Keeper, Kyle Scherer, who stated “Kangaroos are herbivores and primarily eat different kinds of grasses, leaves and roots of various plants. Here, at the Zoo, they are given pelleted feed, orchard grass hay and leafy greens.”
You’ll find 13 red kangaroos at the Zoo. They have 7 females and 6 males to meet during your groups visit. Check the Indianapolis Zoo website to save on tickets, and view schedules, and news.
