Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies’ Pints and Penguins

 


Today is World Penguins Day. These unique birds represent 18 species of which the Emperor Penguin is the biggest. In fact, the Emperor is regal and tall - 4 feet. They are great swimmers as well - they can swim up to 22 mph!

Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies’ has so many beautiful exhibits of sea life. A favorite stop over is at the Penguins, who we love to watch swim. One way to learn more about them is through a special program just for adults. It's a sleep-over unlike any other called Pints and Penguins, and let's guests experience the Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies’ in a new way. 

This evening begins with appetizers and drinks. Afterwards, take a behind-the-scenes tour of the Aquarium. Later, you'll sleep alongside the Aquarium’s African penguin colony in the Penguin Playhouse. In the morning wake up to a hot breakfast and a penguin encounter.
