Coming up August 22 – October 4th is the Minnesota Renaissance Festival that celebrates Tudor England history. This is one of the oldest and largest Renaissance events in America, and they are ready to welcome over 300,000 visitors this season. The festive fun will offer lots to do in this bustling village that celebrates Tudor England history, while sharing regional Upper Midwest folk traditions.
Like the other festivals, this Minnesota event also supports many local organizations with special themed events and activities. Opening weekend includes the Enchanted Educators initiative, which provides free admission to licensed K-12 school staff. While in September, they feature Woofstock (Sept 5–7), and partner with regional animal shelters and rescue groups to promote pet adoption while allowing guests to bring their dogs to the grounds.
The themed weekends at the Minnesota Renaissance Festival are really a great hit with guests. Each weekend changes so you can enjoy unique themed activities, shows, along with all the yummy food and refreshments. Highlights of events include:
- Once Upon a Time Weekend set for Aug 22–23 that will feature a Fairy House Competition.
- Woofstock is a fun day out with dogs at the festival on Labor Day weekend- Sept 5–7.
- Bold North Adventure Weekend (Sept 12–13), which uniquely integrates Viking imagery along with lumberjack culture, and live axe-throwing demonstrations.
