Upcoming Veterans Events
The National WWII Museum is one of many institutions celebrating the US Marine Corps’ 250th birthday. Look for local and regional activities to explore with all active-duty and reserve members, retirees, and Marines veterans. And, on the 11th, they celebrate Veterans Day at the National WWII Museum with tributes and exhibits.
National Veterans Day
On November 11th, the nation’s official Veterans Day observance, ceremonies will be held at Arlington National Cemetery, VA, and will include a wreath-laying, speeches, and military honors. Go to Washington.org - https://washington.org/ to discover current events, attractions and more to experience in the nation’s capital.
Veterans Day DNR Admission
When planning a time out on Veterans Day there are some beautiful spaces to explore in the nation’s recreation areas and parks. This Veterans Day DNR (Department of Natural Resources) is offering free admission at:
- Managed state parks
- Reservoir properties
- State forest recreation areas
- Off-road state recreation areas
This also includes admission to Falls of the Ohio State Park’s Interpretive Center.
“We honor the sacrifices and service of our veterans and active-duty military and look forward to recognizing them with a day exploring some of Indiana’s most treasured natural places,” said Brandt Baughman, director of Indiana State Parks.
Veterans and military personnel should simply tell the gate attendant at the property that they are either a veteran or serving and on active duty.

Dec 7 – Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day Ceremonies

Commemorations will be held nationwide honoring those lost in the 1941 attack. Check for regional activities hosted for veterans and military. This is also an ideal time to uncover tributes to military at museums and memorials.
