America 250: Texas in the Nation’s Service - September


Across the country cities are beginning to hosts festive events as we near the upcoming 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. As we plan our next trip, we have discovered that there are many entertaining events in the Austin region like the upcoming America 250: Texas in the Nation’s Service lecture series September 28, 2:30–4:00 PM. 

 

Join America 250 celebrations in Texas



Located at 2310 San Gabriel ST, Austin, Texas, the Neill-Cochran House Museum has scheduled this lecture series that recalls the state contributions to national milestones that include independence to innovation.


Reading Adventures and Challenges


Like museums, a library is a hub of information, and, a treasured resource for state residents, who can take advantage of regional programs and perks. For all residents, the Texas State Library and Archives Commission (TSLAC) is inviting everyone to join TSLAC’s statewide reading challenge! 


From now through next year, we plan to visit one of many Texas America250 exhibits that will showcase some of the most important historical objects in the  TSLAC’s collection.
