Find A Trail and Celebrate NPS Birthday

Find your park

For trails of every kind one can explore the diverse network of options available within the nations park. The official start of National Park Service was on August 25th 1916 to "preserve unimpaired the natural and cultural resources and values of the National Park System for the enjoyment, education, and inspiration of this and future generations."

The parks system has over 400 national parks now, with each offering memorable experiences to share with family and friends. Throughout the year, the NPS presents cultural stories, programs and activities for all to celebrate our natural treasures.

Sights on safety in parks

With so many parks available, there’s always something new to discover. Part of the discovery is being in the moment and aware of your environment. This means looking out in front of you as you walk to avoid tripping along trails, of which some have long drop offs. To learn tips about trails, and find events to join at the parks in your region, see the National Park Service website that also has virtual activities to experience as well.

From trails among rolling hills to photography of nature and wildlife, the NPS has so much to enjoy, and they welcome guests to share their "park story" on social media using #MyParkStory or #MiParqueMiHistoria
