Memorials remembering fallen service men and women can be visited in towns across the nation. Martinsville, in Morgan County, Indiana - is one of these towns, and their Memorial is on the town square. Located at the southeast corner of the Martinsville courthouse, on the corner of North Main Street and East Washington Street.
The striking images cause one to pause - remembering those who fought in battles portrayed in each of the individual memorials. When there, we stop for a moment of silence to honor the soldiers in Morgan County who were killed in action in the wars, beginning with World War I and including World War II, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, Operation Desert Storm, the Iraq War, the Afghan War, and the soldiers killed in the 9/11 Attack.
