To our delight - hard candy is still found at candy shops while traveling. One of our favorite brands - Claeys Candy - was founded in 1919, and is a sweet treat made in South Bend, Indiana. For over a hundred years the confectionery has created delicious selections that are enjoyed across the United States.
Among the enjoyable old fashioned hard candies are cinnamon, anise, horehound, and lemon drops. The horehound hard candy reminds me of tea, and is just slightly sweet.
As seasons change so do Claeys Candy’s selections, and a holiday favorite is "Chocolate Charlie" that consists of marshmallow and peanuts covered with chocolate.
