The Indiana Storm Chaser's Convention is the place to share a fondness for meteorology. The guests at this convention may agree that the bones feel storms on the horizon long before reports. They share the experience of admiring the distant storm, and the frightful moments when nature releases raw power right overhead.
The event takes place on Saturday, Nov. 4th at the Hendricks County 4-H Fairgrounds and Conference Complex in Danville, Indiana. Doors will open at 8 a.m. with top weather experts starting presentations at 9 a.m. through 5 p.m. EST. Time for lunch will be also scheduled into the Indiana Storm Chaser's Convention that welcomes 100-200 attendees each year.
“We have a lot of the top weather experts attending this event every year, but we are really looking to reach more weather enthusiasts,” said Joseph Cooper, organizer of the event. “Most of our presentations are so down to Earth that anyone who enjoys learning more about weather or studies it as a hobby would understand and enjoy them.”
Indiana Storm Chaser's Convention Presenters include:
- A talk about what is going on in a forecaster's head at the Storm Prediction Center during severe weather events by Evan Bentley, Mesoscale Assistant and Fire Weather Forecaster at the Storm Prediction Center in Norman, Oklahoma.
