Gen Con Wraps Up 55 Anniversary

What a exciting four days of gaming at Gen Con. This year, Gen Con marked the 55th anniversary of the convention since its founding in 1968. The convention brought together folks from everywhere - plus, over 530 game publishers and vendors within the exhibit hall. Great news for gamers, who had their choice of more than 500 new game titles during the convention.

“Our goal this year was a return to the level of scale and spectacle that make Gen Con a can’t-miss annual event for gaming fans from around the world, and we absolutely feel we achieved that,” said Gen Con President David Hoppe. “We’re grateful to our tens of thousands of attendees, exhibitors, event organizers, and local partners who made this year a truly special 55th edition of The Best Four Days in Gaming.”

So wonderful to see everyone enjoying the all the ticketed events. From board games to roleplaying games, and more, there was something to do around every corner of the Indiana Convention Center (ICC) and Lucas Oil Stadium. Gaming was not the only entertainment. There were also virtual gaming events, and plenty of sites to see throughout the convention.

United For The Community

Gen Con raised almost $40,000 for their official charity partner - the Patachou Foundation. This nonprofit organization helps fight the root causes of hunger in the community with meals and learning experiences for children.

What will next year hold for gamers? Gen Con is set to return to Indianapolis next August 3-6, and should be just as thrilling. Until then, keep up with all the  gaming news on the Gen Con website and social channels.
