The fun of traveling is discovering new places and the unique sites we find along the way. A recent study, conducted by Roofing Megastore, analyzed 100 of the world’s most famous architectural works. Many of the world’s most beautiful buildings have what is known as a “golden ratio” that make them visually appealing each is to the human eye.
Among the world’s most beautiful buildings is St. Paul’s Cathedral, which is considered one the most aesthetically pleasing structure ever built. Constructed in the 1700’s, the baroque stylings of St Paul’s Cathedral in London came out on top for its aesthetic perfection, with a 72.28% alignment to the golden ratio.
To complete the analysis, researchers plotted the most common points found on a building, such as the top and bottom corners, the building’s center, and equidistant points around the circumference, before comparing the distance between these markers to those laid out by the ratio.
American architecture also won out for its beauty, with six US buildings ranking in the top 50, more than any other country featured. These included the instantly recognizable White House, and the art deco stylings of New York’s Chrysler Building.
