It’s a month until the World’s Longest Yard Sale. Known as the 127 Yard Sale, the big event starts in Gadsden, Alabama this August 7th to 10th. One scenic route is along Lookout Mountain Parkway, where you travel on through Fort Payne, Alabama, before reaching Chattanooga, Tennessee, and following Highway 127 all the way north through six states to Addison, Michigan.
Along the way, you’ll find hundreds of thousands of yard salers and vendors set up on the 690-mile route from all over the country, making it the biggest yet!
There’s plenty of time to shop the Yard Sale since it runs from Thursday to Sunday, with many folks and vendors setting up shop early in the morning, then staying open later. Keep in mind, some vendors may accept credit cards, while cash is still the preferred method of payment. To make the most of your trip, be sure to wear comfortable shoes, bring insect repellent and sunscreen, and pack snacks, water, and a sense of adventure.
