Sample A Taste Of Elegance With Camus Cognacs
Recently, we had the pleasure of sampling a
taste of elegance with a CAMUS Ginger. This cocktail crafted from CAMUS
Cognac with a splash of ginger ale and accented with lemon peels was a
smooth and aromatic drink we enjoyed very much.
As we discovered
CAMUS is a family-owned cognac house, embodying 150 years of true passion
for cognac and its region, handed down through five generations. In fact, it
is the last great independent cognac house, which is managed by President
and General Manager Cyril Camus. It is Cyril's dedication to his
forefathers’ philosophy of quality, tradition and innovation that has made
CAMUS Cognac number three in Korea, and number four cognac in Japan.
The spirit of generations of the Camus family can be savored with another of
our favorite cocktails; the CAMUS Exotic. Simply combined 4 cl of Cognac
CAMUS VS Elegance, 2 cl pineapple juice, Tonic Water, and crushed ice. Shake
over the crushed ice and strain into a cocktail glass and serve.
The
CAMUS Tonic is also a refreshing cocktail created with 4 cl of Cognac CAMUS
VSOP Elegace, 12 cl of Tonic Water, 1 cl of cranberry juice, and served with
ice. When creating the drink pour the ingredients in a ice filtered tumbler
glass, stir a few seconds and serve.
One thing you will notice when
you open a bottle of the CAMUS VS and VSOP Cognacs are the innovative
screw-caps closures, which also serve as a one-ounce shot measure. These
specially designed screw-caps won CAMUS a Spirit Range gold medal in the
Wine and Spirit Design Awards in 2006, as well as winner of the Platinum
Award of Best of Luxury Category distinction for showing “creative
excellence in brand packaging design” for its EXTRA ELEGANCE.
As we
shared a romantic evening together enjoying our cocktails and reminiscing
about our recent visit to a local winery, I thought of the history of CAMUS
Cognac. The Camus family are winegrowers who love and respect the vines, and
in particular, the unique aromatic qualities and unequalled subtlety of
their grapes.
It is the Camus House’s pride to make Cognacs which are
the true and genuine expression of the vine and its unique local soil. Each
cognac is marked by the personality of the family and the floral character
of the Borderies region, the smallest cognac growing area where the CAMUS’
vineyards are located and where the family is one of the largest private
landowners.
The family has cultivated a single-minded passion for
great cognac, bringing to life the infinite riches and soul of the land that
is their home since 1863. Sold in over 140 countries, and on-board 50
international airlines, CAMUS Cognacs offer a memorable taste of elegance
that unites the passion and pride of the Camus family!
