hotelArt in the Park At Zürich takes place through Mid January within the
private park of the city's renowned Baur au Lac hotel. Created and curated
by Gigi Kracht, the wife of Andrea Kracht, the hotel's sixth-generation
owner, the show will be a exciting exhibit to explore!
The entire Art
in the Park show comprises of works by world-renowned sculptor Igor Ustinov.
During the event there will be 26 of his sculptures displayed. Amazingly,
four of these sculptures weigh more than 600 pounds, and the sculptures are
made of bronze and range in heights from 15 inches to more than 9 feet.
The son of actor Sir Peter Ustinov and grandson of painter Nadia Benois,
Igor Ustinov is an accomplished sculptor, biologist and opera singer. His
creative works are distinct, and can range in sculptures that are very small
to his 9 feet, 3 ton monumentals. Igor Ustinov's creations have been
showcased on exhibit from New York to Tel Aviv, from Bath to Bulgaria, and
in his home town of Lausanne, Switzerland.
The Art in the Park
exhibit will take place at the 120-room Baur au Lac hotel that is a short
stroll from Zurich's world-famous Bahnhofstrasse. Also nearby are the
central Paradeplatz, Lake Zurich and the city's bustling financial district.
The historic Baur au Lac hotel dates back to 1844, and has recently
completed an approximately $41 million renovation, revamping its Pavillon
and Rive Gauche Terrasse restaurants as well as various rooms and suites. It
is also home to Rive Gauche restaurant, which is a local hot spot.
