We spent a weekend with family and friends, and
wanted to prepare something special for breakfast those who stayed over.
We could fix the typical breakfast of bacon, eggs, and biscuits and
gravy. Then, we decided to try a few new ideas with the help of The Art
of Breakfast, by Chef and Innkeeper Dana Moos.
Owner of a prominent New England Bed and Breakfast, Dana has served her guests many delightful meals to start their days. We wanted to do the same, and found her recipes easy to follow, and everyone loved them. The conversation for breakfast was not what was on the schedule for the day, but where they could find the recipes we used.
In her book, Dana includes a collection of her recipes, plus helpful tips and her creative ideas for turning breakfast into a experience to remember. We enjoyed the great photos and ease of preparation of the recipes Dana's included in this great book.
Not only for cooking, I actually enjoyed preparing breakfast. The ingredients were available at our local store, and it only took a short time to prepare everything. Also in The Art of Breakfast you'll find recipes for Cheese Blintz Souffle with Mango and Blackberry, which we look forward to trying next. Then there a recipe for Egg Roulade that we had not thought of cooking with Lobster in Sherry Butter.
Then again, with all the wonderful recipe's found in Dana's book there's no reason to wait for breakfast. And, if you happen to be planning a trip to Portland plan a visit to the prestigious Pomegranate Inn, where Dana Moos is presently their chef and manager.
Look for The Art of Breakfast, by Dana Moos in your local book store or online book store like Barnes and Nobles and Amazon.
