Westport Winery is active in their community, and to kick off the Spring season their hosting athis March, which is Washington Wine Month. Everyone is invited to the event takes place at the end of March, for their inaugural Roll Out The Barrel Festival from noon to 5 p.m. as part of the Washington Wine Month celebration and Westport Winery’s anniversary in Grays Harbor. This festival is free to attend and open to all ages.
Spring barrel tasting is one of the wine industry’s iconic traditions. The Roll Out The Barrel Festival will be the first opportunity to sample some of the vintage red varietals straight from the barrel, including Tempranillo, Sangiovese, Syrah, and Cabernet Sauvignon.
Performing during the festivities will be the Electric Park Jazz Band that will be playing oompah music all afternoon. The winery will also be serving complimentary lentil soup. You're also invited to stay for other festivities, which have included the unveiling of Night Watch, a sculpture by Elma hypertufa artist Frank Ratte.
Just as the winery celebrates the season with their community, they also Give Back by supporting local programs. The Westport Winery invites you to Dine Out For Safety in April as they support Beyond Survival. Serving Grays Harbor County, Beyond Survival s a Sexual Assault Resource Center offering ritical services and programs. These programs include 24-hour Crisis Intervention, Assault Prevention, Counseling for Victims and Families, School Education, Support Groups and Legal Advocacy.
Beyond Survival states that, "One in three women will experience sexual violence in their lifetime. One in six boys will be sexually assaulted or abused before they are 18 years old. This means that someone you love, someone you care about is or will become a victim of sexual assault."
To support Beyond Survival, the Westport Winery will donate a portion of their food and non-alcohol beverage sales from their lunch and dinner service on April 19. April is also Sexual Assault Awareness Month, and Westport Winery is privileged to support this important local effort. Lunch service is available from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and a special dinner service is available from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Dinner reservations are recommended.
