One of our favorite places to visit is the Virginia Aquarium and
Marine Science Center, where we enjoyed the Restless Planet exhibit. This
amazing exhibit takes you on a journey through Virginia's landscape as it
has changed over time through interactive exhibits. In each one you not only
learn about Virginia's history, you also learn more about the world around
us. The best way to enjoy the Virginia Aquarium & and Marine Science Center
is to take your time and explore each of the diverse landscapes because
there are over 300 hands-on exhibits to experience and helpful guides along
What is really amazing about the Restless Planet exhibit is it is home to 6,000 new animals and 367 new species including exotic cobras, hedgehogs and the gracious and impressive Komodo dragons. We have a Bearded Dragon named Jack, who is quite amazing in his own right, but the Komodo dragons are simply stunning at the Virginia Aquarium & Marine Science Center! The exhibit space is huge and gives these impressive creatures plenty of room to roam, and they defiantly roam, which was fun to watch.
Make a day of it and catch a 3-D Movie at the Virginia Aquarium’s IMAX Theater, where we enjoyed watching Whales swim right in front of us! It's such an amazing theater, spacious and not over crowded; it's like having the world come to life right in your own living room. The IMAX Theater shows a wide range of films that include educational pictures to major Hollywood releases. To find a special gift for someone special drop in at the Virginia Aquarium & Marine Science Center's store where you'll find many unique creatures and educational kits.
