Ober Gatlinburg Welcomes Winter Sports Fans

Just in time for the holidays, Ober Gatlinburg’s wish for colder weather has allowed snowmakers to have their slopes ready to ride. This is the ideal spot for hit the slopes with the family for a day or skiing. Or, catch some air snowboarding and honing your skills for the exciting season ahead.

Snowmakers have focused on Cub Way, Castle Run, and Ski School, and made sure the slopes are ready for skiers and snowboarders by Noon on Saturday. Along with skiing and snowboarding, you can also go Ice Skating, or try out the Snow Tubing Park, and kids will enjoy the Cubbies Snow Zone. Afterwards, enjoy a hearty meal, try some German Beer, and browse the shops for goodies to take home.

Ober Gatlinburg is a wonderful experience for the whole family. And, as you’re traveling up on the Aerial Tramway enjoy the view of Gatlinburg. Until you've ridden the Ober Gatlinburg Aerial Tramway you really don't realize how high you are in the Smoky Mountains. It offers such a stunning view all the way to the top to Ober Gatlinburg, and is especially nice at sunset. Plus, during winter look down and you may see black bears roaming below.

There's also something special about visiting in the winter when Gatlinburg is a glow in festive lights. Viewing the city below from the Aerial Tramway is spectacular at night. And, for those who love to snowboard or ski, Ober Gatlinburg is the place to head from December through March.
