Discover Lebanon's Historic Treasures and Festivals On Your Trip

One of the popular places to dine is at the Golden Lamb Hotel in Lebanon, which still stands in its original location and serves meals daily. After opening in 1803 Golden Lamb Hotel hosted many presidents and dignitaries who passed through Lebanon during the country's emergent years. And, for ghost hunters - the Golden Lamb Hotel is rumored to be haunted.

Just across the street is the Village Ice Cream Parlor Restaurant that is also a popular spot to dine. Enjoy a big, delicious burger with old fashioned style French fries and a shake, and be sure to save room for ice cream cone afterwards. We loved the hospitality of our hostess, who made sure we had everything we needed.

A few blocks away is the Lebanon Mason Monroe Railroad, which offers weekend rides along with themed events. The train runs along the right-of-way of the Cincinnati, Lebanon & Northern (CL&N) Railroad, a historic passenger and freight line that began operation in 1881 with narrow gauge rail spacing (thirty-six inches between the rails).

Every weekend the LM&M invites you to reminisce and capture moments with family. Walk through the train to the open-air gondola and listen to informative conductors describe railroad history and operation as well as offer a brief locomotive tour.

Experience a one hour nostalgic train ride on the Lebanon Mason Monroe (LM&M) Railroad through Warren County in Southwestern, Ohio. The LM&M also host several events including the Pumpkin Patch Express, where we enjoyed a leisurely train ride through the country and stopped at a farm to pick a pumpkin and a refreshing drink of cider. Other events especially fun for families are Clifford’s Big Red Train Ride, Curious George, a Day Out With Thomas, the Easter Bunny Express, Little Engine That Could, Muggles Express, and North Pole Express.

Adults can also enjoy their own journey along the rails with the Murder Mystery Dinner Train trip Civil War Train trip, the Brazenhead Lunch, Railroad Revealed, and the Tea Party Mystery Train. Whether you want to just relax and enjoy a ride along the rail with family and friends or one of the special events, the LM&M train excursions are a delightful journey.
