Among our favorite attractions is the Great Lakes Science Center that has over 400 hands-on exhibits. The staff is exceptional and engaging, especially during the science demonstrations at the Great Lakes Science Center. In a six-story-high OMNIMAX theatre you can catch the latest IMAX films, but with all the special exhibits it can be hard to break away from the fun everyone has during their visit. And, the Great Lakes Science Center is joining forces with the NASA Glenn Research Center for a thrilling space-related exhibit, which makes your visit even more fun!
One of the wonderful things about Cleveland is how close all the attractions are to one another. Just a short stroll away is the Steamship William G. Mather, a 618-foot historic Great Lakes freighter, and the always interesting Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame. From the Doors to Pink Floyd, music fans will find a fascinating collection of exhibits highlights the careers of Rock's musical legends. During your visit you can also enjoy a leisurely cruise aboard one of the tours. This is a nice way to unwind after a touring the attractions.
One of the best ways to get around Cleveland is aboard the Trolley Tour. The Lolly the Trolley take you on a one or two hour narrated tour that visits the North Coast Harbor, Downtown Cleveland, University Circle, Ohio City, The Warehouse and Historic Gateway Districts and other points of interest in Cleveland. We've always found this is the best way to not only learn about the history of the towns you're visiting, but enables you to explore all the attractions.
One of the other places to visit while in Cleveland is University Circle, where you'll find art and cultural attractions. The Children's Museum of Cleveland is a fun place filled with exciting activities for toddlers and preschoolers as well as adults. The Cleveland Botanical Garden is beautiful and has ten gardens, plus a glasshouse that showcases global climates and their plant and animal life. This is also a fun places for families, where children are amazed by the butterflies that often land on their shoulders and the turtles that cross their paths. Make sure to check out the Hersheys Children's Garden, the first garden for kids in Ohio and one of the only of its kind.
Next on the list is the Cleveland Museum of Art that has unique exhibits and art education programs are available for adults and children. And admission to the permanent collection is always FREE. Just nearby is the always fun Cleveland Museum of Natural History. It is here where those who love dinosaurs and history can explore exhibits in both traditional and interactive galleries that show kids of all ages how history and art connect with the natural world.
