Des Moines. We enjoy the enclosed Discovery Center that features a butterfly

the natural exhibits featuring over 800 animals from five continents, and join
festive events as well as hands-on activities throughout the year at the Blank
The World Around Us Comes To Life At The Science Center of Iowa - Among the newer attractions for families to explore in Des Moines, Iowa is the Science Center of Iowa. Here, you can search for fossils and arm-wrestle someone in a different time zone. Interactive exhibits and live programs bring science to life as guests discover more about the human body and take an imaginary flight into outer space.
Children will also love visiting an exciting, permanent exhibit at the State Historical Society of Iowa, Mammoth: Witness to Change. It's always a joy to watch children and adults alike stand back in awe as they see, feel and hear life as it was 15,000 to 16,000 years ago. The cornerstone of the exhibit is the complete skeleton of the Hebior Mammoth, discovered near Kenosha, Wis., in 1994.
To beat the heat while in Des Moines head to the Adventure Bay Water Park that features 13 water slides, including two 65-foot speed slides, inner tube and body slides, a family inner tube raft ride and a 6,000 square foot swimming pool and swim up bar, the Adventure Bay Water Park will be a popular spot for fun.
