Spring Events To Join In The Quad Cities

Spring is a time to get out and enjoy the renewal of the season, along with festive events. One of our favorite places to visit is the Quad Cities area of Illinois and Iowa, where you'll find plenty of entertaining events and attractions to enjoy on your visit. Among the events coming up in March is the Nation’s Only Interstate St. Patrick’s Day Parade that takes place in Mid March. This St. Patrick’s Day Parade is unique because it actually marches from Rock Island, Illinois, to Davenport, Iowa, crossing the Mississippi River in the Quad Cities. There will be festive events taking place all weekend, and while you're there you can visit the newly-remodeled John Deere Pavilion.

Later in March is the Quad Cities Garden Show at the QCCA Expo Center, 2621 4th Ave. in Rock Island, Ill. This weekend event includes over 20,000 square feet of spring ideas, including massive display gardens, ponds and waterfalls to enjoy.

Of course, a visit to the Quad Cities would not be complete without visiting the Putnam Museum that is located at 1717 W. 12th Street in Davenport, Iowa. The Putnam Museum opens their new  Dinosaurs exhibit in March, which will run through July. Unlike exhibits that features the remains of dinosaurs this exhibit is a dynamic, animatronic dinosaur exhibition letting you participate in the larger-than-life world of dinosaurs. Also at the Putnam is the Flying Monsters 3D movie that accompanies this exhibit.

Another wonderful exhibit is Anne Frank: A History for Today that begins at the end of March and runs through the end of  May. This unique exhibit is part of over two months of programming throughout the Quad Cities area promoting the lessons learned from Anne Frank and the Holocaust.

One of the events not to miss is the preliminary rounds of "C4: The Cross Country Comedy Competition" the Midwest's premiere stand up comedy competition this March, which takes place at The Speakeasy in downtown in Rock Island, Illinois. They've been selected as one of three comedy venues from across the Midwest to host the month-long contest consists of three preliminary rounds that happen on Saturday's in March 3. The finals kick off on the last Saturday in March, and it's going to be a hilarious event for everyone to enjoy.
