Traveling often, we do not get a chance to visit
with our friend, Merle, very much. And, email, while nice, is not a
replacement for sharing the company of great friends. We were finally
able to plan a trip to the Quad Cities to join Merle, and tour the area
sites and attractions.
Picking a central location is key on any trip; you want to be close to everything, yet away from the heavy traffic so you can relax. We found the perfect hotel; The Residence Inn Moline Quad Cities that is located just off I-74 & I-80 on John Deere Road; only 5 miles from the Quad City International Airport.
The Residence Inn Offers Comfort and Services We Rely On
It had been a long time since we stayed in a Residence Inn, although as a part of the Marriott Family of Hotels we knew we could expect to receive superior service and accommodations; we were not disappointed. Checking into the Residence Inn was simple, and our hostess told us about the Complimentary Services that include a Buffet breakfast, coffee and tea in the lobby throughout the day, and the Manager's Reception in the evenings. This is a nice touch, and a great way to socialize with friends, family, and fellow guests.
The Residence Inn Moline has great spacious rooms with kitchens so you can fix a snack or a meal, and the local store is just around the corner on John Deere Road. Merle and I took advantage of our kitchen, and enjoyed some popcorn while discussing what to do on our trip. Everything we needed was right there, including a cork screw for opening a bottle of wine. And, the rooms are ideal because they are tastefully decorated, and there's plenty of space, so you do not feel overcrowded. The Residence Inn Moline also allows pets, so you, and your canine friend can enjoy a trip together!
While I try not to bring my laptop when traveling it
was nice to have a desk with 2 line phone where we could hook-up to the
complimentary high-speed Internet access. Then, there is a nice Business
Center located in the lobby, where you can get online to check your email
and keep in contact with family and friends. Other amenities include a Grocery shopping service,
Laundry facilities, Valet dry-cleaning, and referrals for local businesses
like car rentals and beauty salons.
Residence Inn Keeps Business Travelers In Mind
When thinking of business meetings, the Residence Inn Moline also has a spacious area for gatherings; there was a antique and auction company using the space during our visit. In fact, the Residence Inn Moline is in a very convenient location; close to the airport and just down the road from major highways, so there were many business men and women staying at the hotel. With the helpful staff available 24/7, you can always find directions and information on local services or with making arrangements for transportation or meeting space.
Along with spacious rooms, a business center, and the Complimentary Services available, the Residence Inn Moline also has a indoor pool, sauna, fitness center, and basketball court. And, right behind it is a softball field, which makes the hotel a great place to stay for visiting teams. There is also a great open patio area with a fire pit, and comfortable chairs, where we enjoyed spending the evening relaxing outdoors. Our trip was short, but we enjoyed every minute of it, and look forward to staying at the Residence Inn Moline again soon!
