San Diego Film Festivals Are Diverse And Engaging

    San Diego is home to many of the best Film Festivals. For Film Fans there are plenty of festivals lined up this year, which includes the annual San Diego Latino Film Festival at the AMC Fashion Valley 18 in San Diego’s Mission Valley during in Mid March. San Diego's Film Festivals cover everything from LGBT, and horror to fashion, and here are the highlights of these upcoming Film Festivals!

    Hang Ten at the San Diego Surf Film Festival, which features over 25 international films, filmmaker presentations, surfboard shaping demos, live music, panels with surf legends and more. The festival takes place at Bird’s Surf Shed, a unique surf shop and surf-art gallery, located in San Diego’s North County.

    The end of May welcomes the year's best LGBT films will be showcased at FILMOUT San Diego  at the Observatory North Park, a historic theater in the heart of one of San Diego’s trendiest neighborhoods. Keep a look out for special appearances by filmmakers and actors during the festival.

    The annual La Jolla International Fashion Film Festival in Mid July will be held in the luxurious coastal community of La Jolla. There will be hundreds of fashion fans on hand to check out the latest films highlighting the world’s top fashion houses, designers and stylists.

    Families will enjoy the San Diego International Kids’ Film Festival that takes place in September at the AMN Healthcare Theater in Carmel Valley. This Film Festival supports entertainment and education industries by showcasing international films, screening more than 60 films from 38 countries.

    In Late September and Early October the San Diego International Film Festival takes the stage in downtown San Diego. This is San Diego’s largest film events, and will share some of the best in American and international full-length films. Mark your calendar because the San Diego International Film Festival will feature guest appearances by well- known actors and film artists, as well as Q & A sessions with directors along with showing documentaries and short films, and other features.

    Horror fans will scream with delight at the Horrible Imaginings Film Festival that celebrates horror and its various sub-genres by showcasing new and independent artists, as well as reviving classic horror films. The festival will take place at the Media Arts Center San Diego’s Digital Gym in North Park. The October festival will chill you to the bone with features films ranging from psychological thrillers to supernatural horror to slashers and even related genres like noir.

    San Diego embraces their diverse cultural heritage, and shares the top cultural films at a number of festivals that
    include the San Diego American Indian Film Festival, San Diego Asian Film Festival, San Diego Italian Film Festival, San Diego Black Film Festival, and San Diego Jewish Film Festival. Each festival will include fantastic screenings of films, along with guest speakers and special appearances by film actors, as well as documentaries, animations, shorts, and opportunities to engage with the creator's of the films.
