Lonely Planet Names Fairbanks, Alaska Among Their Best Top Ten US Destinations To Visit

When exploring Alaska you'll find second best US destination to visit is Fairbanks according to Lonely Planet. Lonely Planet, the leading travel guidebook publisher and website, named Fairbanks among their top 10 destinations because of its natural wonder, aurora borealis and the peak of an 11 year solar cycle that results in spectacular northern lights displays.

The sensation of seeing Arctic skies crackle with smoky blues, greens and reds has long drawn off-season travelers way north.”

Jerry Cleworth, Fairbanks City Mayor reveals more reasons to visit Fairbanks, “While seeing the northern lights is a good reason to visit Fairbanks, there are many more winter attractions that should rank high on your to-do list.
