The Montgomery Biscuits Make A Hit At Riverwalk StadiumDowntown Montgomery continues to revive and restore their historic structures; preserving their past, while looking toward the future. One of the highlights of a visit to Montgomery for Baseball fans is the new stadium that is home to the Biscuits. The name of Montgomery's Baseball team has a fun background. The city asked their residents to pick a name, and what should it be but Biscuits. Imagine the stunned silence when the name was announced on opening day. Yep, you got it, you could have heard a pin drop. No need to fear though, once the residents of Montgomery realized that a survey said that the state of Alabama consumes more biscuits than any other state they decided it wasn't such a bad name after all.

This smooth southern acceptance is a welcoming charm that you feel when visiting Montgomery. The city is perfect for baseball fans, you can check into the nearby Renaissance Hotel or the Embassy Suites across the street, and just a walk down the block to the stadium for a game. The Montgomery Biscuits love their fans, and work hard to support their community. Among the ways they have given back is the creation of the Biscuits Food Stimulus Plan at Riverwalk Stadium.

“Our mission has always been to provide the most enjoyable and affordable family entertainment in the region,” said Biscuits’ President & General Manager Greg Rauch. “We certainly recognize the tough economic climate, and now more than ever are striving to give our fans great memories at an affordable cost.” The Kids Eat Free Sundays offered families a fun day of entertainment that included kids crafts and Coca-Cola Kids Run the Bases, and all kids 12 and under will receive a coupon for a free hot dog and 12 oz. Coca-Cola product as they enter the ballpark on Sundays.

“The Biscuits Food Stimulus Plan is part of our on-going effort to provide a totally family-friendly and affordable experience at our games,” added Rauch. “Whether it be tickets, merchandise or in this instance food, we want our fans to get the most bang for their buck and this plan helps accomplish that.”

Montgomery has been home to a number of minor league baseball teams over the years. These have included the Montgomery Wings, the Rebels, the Grays, the Bombers, the Capitols and the Lions. For the Montgomery Biscuits helping their fans just comes natural. Filled with fast action and thrills, baseball is a sport everyone can enjoy, and the Montgomery Biscuits go all the way for their fans!
