We have traveled many roads throughout America's Backyard, and met many fun and interesting people, who have become Dear Friends. One of these people is Merle Exit, with whom we've shared many adventures. From keeping a beat in Cleveland to grabbing flying Mardi Gras beads out of air in Louisiana, we always have a fun time when we're with Merle!

Her life is just as exciting as we read in her Biography - or one could call it a tale of mischief with friends. Whirl With Merle, It's A Humorous Life is a portrait of a young New Yorker with BIG dreams, and the guts to go after them. Merle has taken the stage as a Comedian and Performer, and she explains the ups and downs of stage life in her book. For me, it is her younger life in which more than one teacher underestimated her talent that intrigued and sounded very familiar to me.

It's true that you can't judge a book by it's cover because Whirl With Merle, It's A Humorous Life is more than a Biography or Journal. It is just the beginning of Merle's adventurous life.

Take a intelligent and inquisitive young girl and turn her loose in New York and you're in for more than you bargained.  She's been known to talk to imaginary friends in public just to see how people around her would react. Now, she talks to her cats, and Esther - her rubber chicken - yes, Merle has a rubber chicken named Esther, who is just as adventurous as she is and travels with Merle. She has also clipped a gag gift - a large safety pin - into her nose and walking around the grocery store for laughs. Of course, today that may not really seem that strange to the X generation. They might even think it's cool.

In Whirl With Merle, It's A Humorous Life, she examines her relationships, business encounters and life in general in a no nonsense manner. She's blunt, she bold, and Merle is passionate about the New York Sharks women's tackle football team. This passion is evident in the continued support she has given the team by spreading the word about their accomplishments on and off the field. 

If you know Merle, then you've heard she's a Journalist, Radio Personality, and a Comedian. What you may not know is that she is just like her book - a unexpected delight, who's not afraid to say what's on her mind.
