The Enchanted Forest & Water Safari

The Enchanted Forest began in 1955 as plans for a fantasyland for the young, and the young at heart.  Paul Bunyan welcomes you as you enter Story Book Lane.  Here you will find Sleeping Beauty, The Crooked House, Peter, Pumpkin Eater, Little Bo Peep, Ali Baba’s Cave, Cinderella’s House, Goldilocks and the Three Bears, Red Riding Hood, & Snow White & the Seven Dwarfs.  Also featured are Captain Kidd’s Pirate Ship, The Bowl Mill, the Paul Bunyan’s Wood Center, the Candy Cane Snack Bar, the Camera Shop & Yukon Village and much more. Continuing on the path, crossing a small stream, you enter animal land where you will see the home of Peter Rabbit, Bill Goats Gruff and Mother Goose.  You can board the train (admission charged), which takes you for a ride and over view of the forest. At the end of the forest there is an open space for 12 children’s amusement rides.

Now onto the water sports part of this theme park: The Water Safari.  What can I say?  It is awesome.  In 1984, a two flume, 360’ water slide opened, and this was just the beginning.  Now there is over 30 water rides with heated water including The Shadow, Congo River Rapids, the White Cobra, Lake Nakura activity pool and the steep fast Killermanjaro Speed Slide that is sure to give you a bathing suit wedgy.  There is also a special section of water slides for the small fry,  that will make them squeal in delight.

You can also see a circus act performance shown two times a day.  You just won’t want to miss seeing an uncaged Leopard act, or Tiger act, Dondi the elephant and family, the Flying Wallendas on the high wire or it could be a surprise new performance.  Plus, the clown that bring smiles and laughter to young and old alike.
