For a trip into the past find time to
explore the Old Forge Hardware Store.
It has almost anything you can think of.
How about fishing equipment, books, clothing, pet
supplies, furniture, cards, house wares, hardware, camping equipment, rugs,
candy, gifts, etc. It is a must
see 2 floors of interesting goods. Right
around the corner is Nathan’s Adirondack Bakery that has fresh baked donuts and
sweets made on the premises everyday by the owner who purchased the bakery in
1981 .
I don’t want to forget about the Strand Theater that first
opened its doors in March 1923. It still
has some of the old equipment placed so that you can see and touch it. And just because it is old doesn’t mean it
can’t keep up with the newest film. The
Old Forge has many motels, camping sites on pristine lakes and lots of great restaurants. It also has many gift shops, some with hand made gifts or rustic mountain style gifts, furniture, and more unique crafts.
Thanks to Katie Noonan, PR Person for Enchanted Forest/Water Safari, for taking time out of her busy day to give us up to date info on the Theme Park.
I hope you enjoyed your tour as much as I did as it brought back fond memories of the fun our family has experienced here.
