Paradise Ranch Offers Guest A Unique Western Experience, By Leroy Worley

Tucked in the heart of the Big Horn Mountains in north-central Wyoming near the historic town of Buffalo, Paradise Ranch offers guest a unique western experience. Among the special saving offered by Paradise Ranch is a seven day all-inclusive western experience for half the regular price in June with all activities, meals and lodging are included. Of course this is just one of the great packages available at the Paradise Ranch.

Each season the Paradise Ranch offers guests a unique western experience at the 102-year-old guest ranch in northern Wyoming. The authentic western experience complete with horses, cattle, and chuck wagons. “If you want to be a cowboy for a week, you might as well do it in style,” says Clay Miller.

The horseback riding program at Paradise Ranch is extensive. Each guest is custom-fitted with a horse that perfectly matches his or her riding ability. The riding program is very flexible, with a number of choices ranging from two-hour rides, as well as both half-day and full-day rides. Some day rides include lunches packed on mules and cooked along the trail. Rides take place through wildflower-strewn mountain meadows in the surrounding Bighorn National Forest.

Paradise Ranch -

Early in the morning, wake to the sound of thundering hooves and steaming nostrils when professional wranglers bring the horses in from the high meadows. Never-ever riders can learn how to handle a horse. Novice riders can practice better horsemanship skills. Experienced riders can compete in team penning exercises where three riders cut a “dogie” from a small herd of cattle while the clock ticks. A barrel racing clinic is another option.

All-Day Entertainment for the Kids

Games, crafts, nature hikes, pony rides and an overnight camp out are scheduled each day for the younger kids, and children 6 years and up can participate in the regular horse programs which include trail riding with the Ranch wranglers. The Teen program has a Social (movie and ice cream for 13 years and older) and an overnight pack trip. There are field trips off the Ranch, and on Chicken Day, there is a chicken chasing competition before the morning rides. City kids get a chance to breathe clean mountain air and to run and play in wide open spaces as well as learn about Native American history and the customs of ranch life.

Wrap it all together and you’re entire family will embrace the West on your visit to the Paradise Ranch!
