With a assortment of accommodation options like condos, cabins and log homes for families, the Smokey Mountains are a great destination for holiday celebrations. Pigeon Forge, Sevierville, and Gatlinburg are know for traditional family entertainment and celebrations. Whether you plan to cook up your own family feast while there or head out and let someone else do the cooking, the Smokey Mountains has plenty of options for a memorable family getaway.

Among the entertaining options for a holiday feast are the dinner theaters in Pigeon Forge that offer an array of entertainment throughout the holiday period. Entertains top names call Tennessee home and take the stage to perform each night, offering everything from magic and comedy to country music and Broadway tunes. Other restaurants in Pigeon Forge include the Alamo Steakhouse, Bennett’s Bar-B-Que, Mama’s Farmhouse, the Old Mill Restaurant and the Pottery House Café and Grill that offer special holiday meals.

A visit to the Smokey Mountains in winter is a magical experience as Winterfest spreads a jolly cheer throughout the mountains. Over five million Winterfest lights brighten the town, and we cannot forget the colorful celebration at Dollywood that invites you to join the Smoky Mountain Christmas festival.

A special treat for the holidays takes place in nearby in Sevierville at the Smoky Mountain Palace traditional Chinese cultural acrobatics entertain guests with a fast paced, and at times breath taking performances in Cirque de Chine. The costumes are gorgeous, and the music selections in the performances enhance this extraordinary show.

Cirque de Chine has a rich history, and only less than 200 performers have mastered the skills and they are sworn to secrecy about the methods used to stun audiences. One of the new acts rarely performed outside of China is the Face Off or Mask Changing. It is a form of Chinese expressionist theater that is documented to be at least 300 years old and is impossible for the audience to explain after seeing it. The face mask on the beautiful young lady changes from one mask to another, without being touched, in the blink of an eye.
