We started out searching for a weekend getaway and we found the perfect place; the Great Wolf Lodge in Warren County, Ohio. The Great Wolf Lodge is practically just around the from about everywhere in the Midwest. Located right next door to Kings Island, it is the perfect place for a family getaway!

If you have a large family or group, then the Great Wolf Lodge is excellent because they offer several family or group size suites that have a rustic charm and can sleep from four to eight. The suites are not only spacious, but they also have all the comforts of home, including mini-refrigerators, cozy beds, sleeper sofas, entertainment available like movies and Nintendo's, and they are all non-smoking. Some suites at the Great Wolf Lodge have a cave-themed area with bunk bed, and there are patios and balcony's so you can just sit back and relax after a fun day of adventure.

Along with spacious suites and rooms, the Great Wolf Lodge also offers plenty of fun activities and adventures for everyone to enjoy. Of course, all the kids love the mega water park the at Great Wolf Lodge. No worrying about the winter chill here, it's always warm and there's more than enough fun to enjoy in the pool or zipping down the water slides. And, your stay includes passes to the Great Wolf Lodge's water park, plus all the other amenities of a high-end resort, yet you enjoy affordable prices and special packages, so you can enjoy more on your getaway!

On site are dining options that include the Loose Moose Cottage that offers breakfast and dinner buffets, the Spirit Island Snack Shop for a nibble during your stay. There is also a Starbucks so you can have your morning brew. We picked up some nachos with cheese at the Bear Claw Cafe, while the kids order pizza from Pizza Hut Express. For our family meal we dined at the Camp Critter Restaurant that offers delicious menu selections or you can visit the Camp Critter Bar & Grille.

In case you forget your swim suit you can drop in at the Bear Essentials Swim Shop. Here, you'll find everything you need, including swim diapers, sandals, and bathing suits. The little ones or big kids at heart will enjoy creating their own stuffed wolf and other animals friends or find a gift for someone on your gift list in the Buckhorn Exchange Gift Shop. You'll also find rustic items for the home as well as clothing, candles, and those basic items we often forget to pack like razors.

When you stay at the Great Wolf Lodge your family can hang out and enjoy a variety of activities and special events year-round! There are plenty of games to enjoy for family time, and during holidays they hold many festive events. One of the favorite events among young guests is the story time when everyone meets at the Clock tower and then again later in the evening for the Great Pajama Story Time.
