Set Your Own Pace On A Getaway To Atlantic City, By Leroy Worley

Getaway To Atlantic City

Sail out of Atlantic City's Historic Gardner's Basin and enjoy a day viewing marine wild life and the open waters along the shores of New Jersey. In addition to the Marine Mammal Cruise, Atlantic City Cruises also offers a Morning Skyline cruise, a Harbor Tour and a Cocktail Cruise, which are ideal for a romantic getaway.

Nearby in the Belleplain State Forest in Woodbine you'll find over 42 miles of flat hiking trails, and campgrounds where you can set up base. While here you can go horseback riding, mountain biking or rent a canoe for a day. This 16,300-acre park is known for having the greatest variety of habitats in New Jersey, including salt water marshes, white cedar and mixed hardwood swamp, and oak hickory forest. For more information on visiting the Belleplain State Forest call 609-861-2404.

Leaming's Run is a delightful stop over while in the Atlantic City area. Located in Cape May Court House we enjoyed a relaxing walk along winding paths, where at every turn is yet another celebration of nature's beauty. There are bridges, and peaceful ponds and nooks that are all part of the 25 individually designed and expertly crafted gardens. To find out more about visiting Leaming's Run call 609-465-5871.
