The Moonrise Hotel is located at 6177 Delmar in the Loop in the mix of what my husband called a lively entertainment district in St. Louis. With excellent directions from the hostess at the hotel we found our way along the strip filled with various dining and shopping options. Valet Parking is available as well Free parking in the rear of the hotel, which makes it convenient for guests like us and locals alike.
The
moment we stepped through the doors of this modern boutique
hotel we felt welcomed. The staff of the Moonrise Hotel are
extremely well trained, and courteous. Shortly after
checking in we received a call from the hostess making sure
our room was comfortable and to see if there was anything
else we needed. Dinner was on the top of my list after
driving in from Indianapolis, and the hostess offered
several suggestions. We decided to dine at Eclipse
Restaurant,
located next to the lobby.
We enjoyed the casual setting of the Eclipse that offered comfortable lounge seating across from the bar, cozy booths, and outdoor seating. As we dined on a delicious sampling of crab cakes we discussed our favorite collections of celestial objects found throughout The Moonrise Hotel and the Eclipse Restaurant. As we enjoyed each other's company we came to the conclusion that we were staying in a cultural capsule with a modern edge. The Moonrise Hotel and the Eclipse Restaurant have captured the essence of a golden age when hospitality was the top priority, and wrapped it up in stardust. Here, each night is a dream under the moon when you snuggle into the double pillow-top mattresses and close your eyes.
Awake
in the morning to room service or a casual breakfast in
Eclipse. Whether traveling for business or pleasure The
Moonrise Hotel offer amenities to suit your needs. Among
these amenities are the ability to stay connected with
wireless high-speed Internet access, which I enjoyed. Then
again, each guest room is designed to keep you efficient and
connected with ample desks, executive swivel chairs and
connectivity for laptops, and iPod docking stations as well.
These extra touches are an advantage to everyone who needs
to stay in touch with the office or add the finishing
touches to a project or meeting arrangement via the
internet. On the second floor is a fitness and business
center, meeting space, and ample room for relaxing and
reading the paper or checking your email in private.
The location of The Moonrise Hotel makes it a ideal spot for participating in local events, thriving nightlife, and attending to business affairs. It was wonderful to relax outside the Eclipse and watch as the locals that included families and a diverse mix of youth came out to enjoy a evening along The Loop. Within steps of The Moonrise Hotel is a concert venue, Bowling Alley, in addition to an eclectic blend of shops and dining options. Nearby is Forest Park where you'll find attractions like the St. Louis Zoo and others that offer FREE admission. During our stay we visited the Missouri History Museum, which is also located in Forest Park for the Katherine Dunham: Beyond the Dance exhibition.
We came to join our friends on the National Black History Tour, and were told by a dear friend that The Moonrise Hotel perfect for us; she was right. Our few short days at The Moonrise Hotel were not enough. We look forward to returning again soon!
