Dining at Michael Smith's Restaurant in Kansas City's Crossroads Art District, By Iris Dean:

Celebrate a romantic occasion with James Beard Award-winning Chef Smith (Best Chef, Midwest, 1999), who offers special five-course menus that is both decadent and refined.

Located in the heart of downtown Kansas City's Crossroads Art District, the Michael Smith restaurant is open for both lunch and dinner. Lunch is served Tuesday through Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., and dinner is served Tuesday through Saturday from 5 to 10 p.m. Michael Smith is closed Sunday and Monday, and the menu selections vary throughout the year.

Since a romantic meal cannot end without some chocolate, Pastry Chef Michael Bump has prepared a decadent dessert to close the meal: Dark Chocolate Molten Cake or Fresh passion fruit coulis & fresh whipped cream.

Michael Smith's is ideal for any romantic occasion so plan ahead by booking your reservations early by calling (816) 842-2202 or visit www.michaelsmithkc.com for current specials and menu selections. Private dining space is available for up to 30 guests, and the space is built to suit any occasion - from a more intimate celebration with friends, to a business or formal affair.
