Stay, Play and Dine and Wine While In Kissimmee, By James & AJ Grass

With so many choices for the ideal Kissimmee vacation how do you pick a place to stay? We look for comfort, quality, and superior services, and special events, which added a great touch to any getaway in Florida. As we get ready for vacation, we've found many great deals at all of the accommodations in Kissimmee. Here are a couple suggestions to help you plan your trip:

SummerFest at Gaylord Palms Resort will rock your world as this family music festival presents lively Rock Band competitions that unleash our inner rock star. Lounge around the pool as a DJ spins tunes, and catch a "Dive-In" movie or the Roadies Challenge. You can also participate in a hidden guitar scavenger hunt, and there will be plenty of live bands. The SummerFest Room package includes accommodations for up to 4 guests, special meal credits per night, free resort activities, and daily self parking. To check on this and other packages available at the SummerFest at Gaylord Palms Resort call 407-586-2000.

The Reunion Resort and Club, which is a Wyndham Grand Resort offers villa-style lodging, a spa, a full water park, access to two golf courses and more, which makes it another great choice for accommodations while in Kissimmee. Of course, with over 47,000 selections for accommodations you'll find great deals for the perfect Kissimmee getaway!

Kissimmee also has a great mix of dining options available for just about every taste. One of our favorite places to enjoy a meal are at the area dinner shows, and then there is the Kissimmee City Centre that has several restaurant and thriving pubs. Whatever your craving, you're certain to find it in Kissimmee, and here are a few new additions to choose from on your trip.

Comedians, acrobats, singers, dancers entertain you at the Pirate’s Dinner Adventure with a new show that appeals to adults. The Treasure Tavern is designed to evoke a Caribbean port where sailors, pirates and adventurous travelers gather to recharge after long days at sea. Seating 240 people, the planned 2-hour, PG rated show will run five nights a week with two shows on Fridays and Saturdays. The dinner show and club will offer a 3-course meal for $49.95 per person or $24.95 for admission without the meal.

Hungry for more dining options and perhaps some Sushi, then head to the Kissimmee City Centre for Sushi by Chef Ha that offers selections that range from the introductory to the exotic, all beautifully turned out by a master sushi chef. Also part of Kissimmee's downtown scene are Three Sisters Speakeasy and Chef John’s Dockside Inn, and after dinner visit the Vintage Vino wine bar.

How about a classic at Willy’s Hot Dogs, another new eatery at the growing Kissimmee City Centre, where you’ll find real Chicago-style dogs. It’s all on the menu: Old School dogs with Italian beef, Maxwell Street Polish with grilled onions, mustard and sport peppers, and the Messy Dog with chili and cheese.

In Kissimmee food can be fun as well, and this is the case at the new Pure Magic Ice Cream parlor, featuring delicious and unique ice cream made to order on the spot! Choose as many flavors from among dozens of add-ins, then watch as it is added to a vanilla base and flash frozen with liquid nitrogen, creating a rich and creamy ice cream under a beautiful cloud of vapor within seconds and mixed by a friendly staffer. The parlor also offers pizza and hot dogs in a park-like setting where guests are encouraged to create chalk masterpieces on the concrete floors and kids can run off some of the sugar on the playground equipment.
