From sky high adventures to racing along the Florida waterways, close encounters with Florida fiercest Gators, and kayaking or nature tours; you'll find plenty of fun to enjoy in the Kissimmee! Take flight high above Central Florida aboard a Kissimmee Helicopter with the Kissimmee Air Museum and Warbird Adventures. They have expanded flight operations to include helicopter flights and instruction with Kissimmee Helicopters. The new venture offers flights and instruction in a Robinson 44 helicopter to pilots and non-pilots alike under the supervision of an experienced instructor – or solo for a qualified pilot. Introductory flights start at $125 for a 15-minute flight, $199 for a 30-minute flight and $375 for a 60-minute flight, all recorded and available to share and re-live. "Pilots" also can bring along two friends at no extra charge! For a new thrill on one of Kissimmee’s scenic waterways, book a seat on Turbo’s Race Boat Rides on East Lake Tohopekaliga in St. Cloud. Leaving from East Lake fish Camp, Captain TJ takes visitors out on half-hour rides, reaching speeds up to 80 mph! Visitors shouldn’t be intimidated by the high-speed water ride, as the captain will customize each trip based on riders’ acceptable thrill level. Rides are priced at $55 per person for two people; $45 per person for three or more. Advance reservations should be made by calling 407-436-4571. Bring along your camera and capture the wild side of Florida with Kissimmee Outdoor Adventures. They are offering kayak and guided tours, birding adventures and nature walks, including a tour of the 132-acre Makinson Island. These adventures are local favorites, and fantastic way to see Florida, Kissimmee. The Outdoor Adventures trips launch daily from Big Toho Marina on Lake Tohopekaliga in downtown Kissimmee. Lake Toho is popular for wildlife-watchers fascinated by sightings of the bald eagle, Florida sandhill cranes, egrets and gators. Besides the sights and sounds, visitors also learn of the history of Lake Toho while enjoying an hour-long scenic eco tour.
Discover a Mile of Monsters at Gatorland that is home to many of the fiercest predators in the world. This new addition lets you see and hear the stories of the most notorious reptiles in residence on a self-guided walking tour. During your tour you'll find Chester, known as the Terror from Tampa, and Mania from Miami, whose split personality takes him from mild to manic in seconds. This is just the beginning of the wild stories you'll hear about the ten fierce alligators and crocodiles that have been known to be a bit antisocial, and even keep the most seasoned veterans at the park on their guard. Soon you will also hear the tales 24 of the most feared animals to grace the waterways of Gatorland.
