The natural wonders found at Tulelake are just a sample of the amazing experiences that await when you visit. We discovered the 24 mile diameter Medicine Lake Volcano with the beautiful Medicine Lake at its crest. It is a great location for photographers who want to capture some unique shots of the fields of volcanic glass obsidian on Little Glass Mountain.

Those who enjoy caving will find many to explore or hike along the twisted volcanic landscape found in Lava Beds National Monument. Be sure to bring along your camera if you plan to tour the Volcanic Legacy Scenic Byway. This all American Road goes from Crater Lake National Park to Lassen Volcanic National Park.

A visit to the Tule Lake National Wildlife Refuge is a memorable trip whether you visit in the spring or fall when millions of birds migrate to the area. Among the beautiful birds you can spot are the American bald and Golden eagles, Snow, Ross�, white-fronted, & Canada geese, the American white pelican, White-faced ibis, Peregrine falcons, and many others. Each visit is unique, and it's amazing to watch to graceful birds and just relax after a day of hiking the trails and enjoying natural beauty of the refuge.

There are a number of historic sites to explore as well during your visit. Learn about the pre-history of Petroglyph Point, following in the foot steps of John C. Fremont and Kit Carson. Travel along the Applegate Trail or visit Tulelake's outstanding museum located at the Tulelake - Butte Valley Fairgrounds.
