Year-Round Recreation & Adventure In Arkansas, By Leroy Worley
Fishing In Arkansas -Whether the cold is settling in up North
or you're just looking for a great fishing hole to drop a line in visit
Arkansas. Fishing in Arkansas is a popular year round because of the state's
many streams and rivers. Bass fishing is especially challenging in all 75
Arkansas counties because the state boasts nine species of bass, including
stripers that top the 60-pound range.
Little Missouri River -The Little
Missouri River in western Arkansas offers cool-season rainbow trout
fishing. Catfish, crappie and bream are also abundant in the southern
(Timberlands or lower Delta) part of the state. The year-round fishing
opportunities in addition to excellent whitetail deer and Arkansas duck hunting
seasons attract thousands of sport fishing and outdoor enthusiasts from the
nearby states and across the nation.
Preparation Meets Opportunity - Hunting and fishing luck, it is said, occurs when preparation meets opportunity. The old Arkansas state motto still holds true for fishermen and hunters alike; Arkansas is the land of opportunity when it comes to outdoor activities. The Nature State is well populated by a wide variety of fish and wildlife found on more than 600,000 acres of lakes, almost 10,000 miles of streams and several million acres of public lands to explore.
