Welcome To The Renaissance Montgomery Hotel & Spa at the Convention Center, By Melody Schubert:

Since I've never been to Montgomery, Alabama before I was excited about our upcoming convention. Figuring out where to stay when visiting a new destination is less of a problem today. Hop online and you'll find plenty of resources. We knew we wanted to be close to the Convention Center, and stay somewhere that offered the amenities and excellent service we expect. Of course, there are numerous choices, and among the top choice is the Renaissance Montgomery Hotel & Spa at the Convention Center; a perfect selection. Located at 201 Tallapoosa Street in Montgomery, Renaissance Montgomery Hotel & Spa has all the modern amenities that include LCD TVs with an abundance of high definition channels, a wireless phone with touch screen, and a connectivity panel to integrate all your electronic devices. And, it is close to where we needed to be on this visit.

As for conventions, the Renaissance Montgomery Hotel & Spa at the Convention Center offers an amazing amount of space; over 140,000 square feet of space in fact! This makes it easy to plan an assortment of activities from exhibits and conferences. While I did not have the pleasure of catching a show at the Performing Art Centre I did take a peak inside of this state-of-the-art facility. Performing Arts Centre. To my surprise one of the upcoming acts is Alice Cooper on his Theatre of Death Tour on Oct 7th, and Queensryche's American Soldier Tour. On September 18th Spencers Theatre of Illusion takes the stage, and later in the month on September 24th of another legend, Pat Green. The venue is perfect for concerts as well as Broadway shows like Annie, which is also featured on the lineup. Guests and visitors alike will not find a bad seat in the house at the Performing Arts Centre! All this combined with the Renaissance Montgomery Hotel & Spa at the Convention Center's superior service, and your have the ideal setting for a grand event!

Speaking of superior service, the Renaissance Montgomery Hotel & Spa at the Convention Center is on the top of the list in our book! The moment you arrive are greeted with the warmth of southern hospitality. I took a lot of pictures so I was always going in and out the doors, and there was always a polite young man there with a welcoming smile on his face to open the door for me. The young men and women at the front desk were just as helpful, and willing to answer any of my questions about the area or assist me when I got turned around during the conference. It's a big facility, but no problem when you have exceptional staff on hand to assist you! While we did not visit the lavish 9,000 square foot European Spa, we did hear from friends who did that they were very relaxed after their visit. On the 8th floor you'll also find the lavish pool, which our friend Richard did enjoy, and there's a gym.

The rooms were spacious and crisp, and although I do not sleep well away from home I felt asleep shortly after my head hit the pillow in the cozy bed. The serving staff on hand during our luncheon was spot on, providing us with our drinks, and refreshing meals. When it comes to delicious selections for an evening out be sure to visit the The House Restaurant, where the Chef service up a mix of southern favorites and other culinary delights. For a evening drink visit The Exchange Lounge where you can also sit outside and enjoy live music and the company of gr

On our visit we did have the chance to wander around and discovered there beautiful Riverboat called the Harriett II as well as the Riverwalk Amphitheatre just a short walk away. And, just around the corner is the Riverwalk Stadium, home to the the Montgomery Biscuits! Country music fans must visit the Hank Williams Museum, which is just across the street for a memorable moments exploring the history of this legends life. Nearby attractions also include the Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts, a Black Heritage Trail, Historic Union Station, First Flight School, and the Rosa Parks Museum, as well as the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail at Capital Hill. So, as you can tell there's plenty to do a short distance away.
