Today's technology gives Traveler's an edge they did not have before.
With Apps we can easily make our way around and discover new
destinations to explore across America's Backyard and Beyond. Now, we
can also download some of the Best-Selling Travel Guides from world
traveler, Rick
Steves’.
iPhone and iPod Touch apps -
Four of the Rick Steves' iPhone and iPod Touch apps -
Historic Paris Walk & Tour, Rick Steves' Louvre Tour, Rick Steves' Orsay
Museum Tour, and Rick Steves' St. Peter's Basilica Tour are now
available for purchase from the
Apple
iTunes App Store for
$4.99.
The apps were developed by Seattle-based Übermind, Inc. in
partnership with Avalon Travel, publisher of Steves' best-selling
European guidebooks, and Rick Steves' Europe Through the Back Door,
which leads more than 400 tours throughout Europe annually. "Millions of
people know Rick Steves from his guidebooks, and millions more are fans
of his TV shows and podcasts," said Bill Newlin, publisher of Avalon
Travel. "These apps bring Rick's signature travel advice on viewing
Europe's major sights and museums to an entirely new level, with
something for everyone."
Travel Is A Family Affair - The passion for travel
is in the blood, and now Andy Steves, Rick's son has started his own
tour company. "Weekend Student Adventures" will offer exactly that to
American students studying abroad in Europe. "Andy is in Europe this
fall setting it all up and will guide his first three-day student
weekend adventures in Prague, Rome, Paris, and London this November.
This month's

vision," said
Rick Steves'.
Rick also host several Travel Classes, and you can join him
and his travel-savvy staff for a full-day of free travel classes in
downtown Edmonds, WA on Saturday, October 30th. The fall Travel Festival
features nine fascinating slideshow presentations packed with the latest
European travel tips, insights and discoveries. Plus, Rick will give a
crash course for smart people who fell asleep in their European art and
history courses before they knew they were going to Europe.
The Smithsonian Presents: Travels with Rick Steves - Rick Steves’ shares his personal experiences and stories to create a
unique magazine for travel and history enthusiasts. This special issue
of Travels with Rick Steves will focus on his favorite 20 things to see
and do in Europe. If you enjoy watching his travels, then you'll find
the collection of cultural destinations and experiences from Rick's
trips a exciting journey as well. The issue will also include service
features, practical tips and advice from Steves, which is always helpful
when planning your trip.
“Smithsonian magazine embraces life, culture and learning with the same
passion we embrace thoughtful European travel. That’s why collaborating on a
