Aurora is one of the best and the most sought after tourist destinations
of Philippines. It was initially explored by Juan De Salcedo during the year
1571; during his journey from Laguna he reached Casiguran and Baler. This
beautiful area was adversely affected by tidal waves arising from Pacific
Ocean. Due this the entire area was destroyed and the surviving people moved
away from the coast and founded village Binondo in 1814.This area is
situated on the extreme side of the Sierra Madre Mountain range of Luzon.
Aurora province is surrounded by Isabela on the north, Pacific Ocean on the
east and from west side by Nueva Ecija province, Viscaya and Quirino.
In 1951, municipalities came into existence which now comprises the
province of Aurora which was later changed into the Maria Aurora. On August
13, 1979 Aurora emerged as an individual province.
The Province of Aurora is blessed with a range of historical, natural and
entertaining sites. During your tour to Aurora you will find a range of
attractions in form of historical sites such as Catholic churches, home of
former president of Philippines Manuel L.Quezon.
The must visit attractions of province is the Manuel Quezon Memorial
Shrine which has gained the fame as the tallest building of Quezon City. The
height of the building is about 66 meters and was built in honor of Manuel
Quezon. This shrine consists of three towers which represent birth, life and
death and are topped by the three angles known as Luzon, Visayas, and
Mindanao.
Another prominent and marvelous historically significant structure is the
Baler Catholic Church which was constructed from the bricks and sand found
in Baler town. The present structure of church was built in 1939 but one can
find the details such as a bell and various artifacts.

Aurora also offers some of the pristine and secluded beaches. Aurora
offers some of the most exotic and unexplored beaches. Beaches such as the
Ampere Beach, Dinadiawan Beach, Baler Beach and many beaches offer exquisite
views of Pacific Ocean. Dinadiawan Beach is known for its most ideal natural
setting offering beautiful and attractive scenic landscapes. This resort
free beach is surrounded by beautiful and lush greenery of Sierra Madre
Mountain Range.
The beaches of Aurora offers an ideal setting for surfing loving people
as it offers some of the most favorable and safe surfing points. These
surfing points are ideal for both beginner and with experience. Sabang
Beach, Cemento Beach, Lindy's Point, Charlie's Point are the best known for
their surfing friendly waves. It offers surfing waves for the entire year
but the waves during the month from October to February are considered as
the best. One can also go for other adventurous aquatic sports such as
snorkeling, windsurfing and scuba diving.
