St Giles Hotel New York - The Court Supports The J/P Haitian Relief Organization, By Melody Schubert

Located in the heart of Manhattan’s Murray Hill district, the St Giles Hotel New York  - The Court is known for offering guests offers easy access to the Midtown tunnel and the U.S. Open Tennis Center where the U.S. Open matches are played. In support of the J/P Haitian Relief Organization (HRO), founded by actor Sean Penn, St Giles Hotel New York's - The Court will offer tennis fans the opportunity to take home a true collector’s item from the 2010 U.S.

From now until October 31, 2010, bids for a tennis racquet signed by tennis’ Caroline Wozniacki will be accepted at the hotel’s front desk, which is located at 130 East 39th Street New York, New York. Travelers and the public are invited to submit bids and proceeds from the highest bid, and help support the J/P Haitian Relief Organization, which started hours after the deadly earthquake hit in Haiti in January 2010.

The organization was created to simply to save lives and bring relief to the Haitian people quickly and effectively. Less than a week after the disaster, J/P HRO was on the ground bringing much needed medical supplies and a team of doctors to the country. In the months since the earthquake, the organization has built a strong network of doctors and emergency management volunteers who have made tremendous progress on the ground.

“We are so honored to be able to provide support to such a worthy organization. J/P HRO’s efforts in the devastated country have provided immense relief and brought hope and help to the citizens of Haiti,” said David Lopez, General Manager of the St Giles – The Court. “In addition, we are thrilled to partner with Tennis great Caroline Wozniacki for this initiative as she is quickly becoming one of the most successful athletes on the court.”

Caroline Wozniacki, who officially turned pro in 2006 and has since won six Sony Ericsson WTA Tour Singles Titles, held the number 1 seed going into the 2010 U.S. Open. At the 2009 US Open, Caroline made her debut Grand Slam singles appearance in the quarterfinals, semifinals and final before falling to former Sony Ericsson WTA World #1 Kim Clijsters.
