Rock 'N' Roll and Roller Coasters In Louisville, Kentucky, By Nick Worley

From the lively Greek Festival to Fourth Street Live that comes to life when the sun sets, there's always something unforgettable to experience in Louisville, Kentucky. Hop on the interstate in Louisville and within minutes you'll reach the Fair Grounds and Expo Center where you will find the Kentucky Kingdom theme park. We spent the day taking in a bit of Rock at the Thirsty Melon Music Tour and a few rolls on the high-flying roller coasters. Guests at theme park enjoyed a extra bonus with their admissions; a weekend filled with cool tunes by Musicians from around the country. This is just one of the many entertaining events held at Kentucky Kingdom throughout the season.

In the evening after a day of splashing around in the Water Park and riding coasters at Kentucky Kingdom we headed to downtown Louisville for some nightly entertainment at Fourth Street Live. The entertainment complex, located at 4th & Liberty, a short walking distance from the Galt House has several dance clubs and dining venues.

We loved the vibrant and lively Red Cheetah bar at Fourth Street Live, whose bartender's kept our drinks filled and spirits high throughout the night. The mix of Rock 'N' Roll and Dance Music kept our shoes tapping when we weren't mingling with locals and visitors alike among the crowd at several clubs located in the Fourth Street Live complex. Safety was of no concern either when we headed back to the Galt House. Louisville's finest were on-hand each night to serve and protect. To add a romantic touch to your evening out in Louisville catch one of the Horse-Drawn Carriages available back to your hotel.

Like many cities, downtown Louisville is in the middle of transition. Unique sculptures spread around town express the Louisville's artistic charm. Walk the clean city streets and you'll find a revival of older architecture, tributes to the city's history, theaters, and several world-class museums we visited. There is also the Science Center & IMAX Theatre, the Louisville Zoo, the Speed Art Museum, and the Kentucky Derby Museum, which takes you behind the scenes of this famous race.

Closing Announcement: What was a thrill for those living and nearby Louisville has come to an end - Kentucky Kingdom has CLOSED.
