The Annual Mac Tools U.S. Nationals at O’Reilly Raceway Park in has a weekend full of excitement as Ashley Force Hood became the first woman to win the NHRA U.S. Nationals championship Funny Car division in her Castrol GTX Mustang at O’Reilly Raceway Park.
With a close finish, Ashley beat out teammate Robert Hight of John Force Racing with an ET of 4.170 and a solid speed of 294.75, making it her second win in the racing circuit this year. She beat out Jack Beckman, with her first win back in March at Houston Raceway Park with
an awesome performance of an ET of 4.12, and a speed of 306.19.
Her career performances have been accelerating and exciting to her many fans with 8 career wins, 21 career finals and a 4.048 career best ET and a 312.13 career best speed.
She is also the only female to qualify for the special bonus event for Funny Car drivers as the top seed in her first ever appearance and she also became the first female driver to advance to a final round in a Funny Car at Las Vegas in 2007.

Other accomplishments she has under her belt, are while she was racing some great speeds at the 2008 Mac Tools U.S. Nationals in Indianapolis she became one of the nine female drivers to have competed in a single NHRA Full Throttle Series event and she is also one of the top
ten women to have qualified No. 1 in a Pro category along with being one of the eleven women to have won in a Pro category in NHRA history.
Going forward, Ashley has now placed a women winner in each one of the top Pro categories at the U.S. Nationals at O’Reilly Raceway Park in Indianapolis and is now one of
the three elite winning women, joining Shirley Muldowney and Angelle Sampey to the Women Pro Race Winners. That is some great racing!
During the countdown to 10 for the 2009 NHRA Funny Car FTS Regular Season, she has clinched a playoff with 1128 Points and has only 6 races to go to the Finals in Pomona California.
